Are there additional opportunities for students in the program?
Virginia Intermont offers opportunities to gain first-hand experience outside the classroom from experts in their field. Each spring semester, guest lecturers or panels are brought to share their expertise with business students and the community through the Robinette Lecture Series. Students are also able to polish their business etiquette skills in Corporate Cotillion, which is also offered each spring. Local business people and alumni speak at monthly (Business Organization for Student Success) B.O.S.S. meetings on topics of interest not just to business majors but also other students, faculty and staff. Each May term, a business trip is offered for upper-level credit to destinations such as New York and London where students are able to meet with professionals in management, marketing, finance, public relations, insurance and other business-related fields.
