The interdisciplinary studies program is designed to provide teacher preparation for preK-6 certification. This program provides an academic and practical background, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts Degree. The Interdisciplinary Studies major, which incorporates course work from the arts and humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences, is designed primarily to provide a broad knowledge base for the preparation of preK-6 teachers.

Faculty in Intermont’s highly respected teacher education program put “preparation” at the top of their list of the good things the program offers. As early as the freshman year, supervised field experiences begin. Assignments, knowledge and responsibilities increase step-by-step so that upon entering the classroom on the first day of student teaching, students have the tools for success.
