Facilities

The Dance Center has two studios, faculty/staff offices, lecture rooms, production spaces and dressing rooms. Studio A is our inspirational studio, a magnificent studio with large tinted windows. It is the largest of the two studios. Both of the studios have wood floors, in addition to portable marley flooring and full length mirrors.

Rooms and studios are equipped with video equipment, sound systems and televisions for documentation and evaluation of classes, choreography and rehearsals. Costume enhancing and costume storage are also on the premises.

The campus has two theatres and an outdoor amphitheatre. The dance department's formal dance concert presentations are performed in Harrison-Jones Memorial Hall, which seats 1000. It is in close proximity to Studio A.

Trayer Theatre in the Fine Arts Building is sometimes used for student composition showcases. The amphitheatre also near Studio A is occasionally used for ceremonial performances. Studio A is used for less semiformal presentations such as Family Weekend and student composition presentations.

VI dancers literally dance everywhere on campus: on the lawns, in the dining hall, recital hall, in the fountain and in the gymnasium. Off-campus the Company has performed at other colleges/universities, community schools, festivals and parks.
