Math Lab

Do your palms begin to sweat at the mention of defining the Pythagorean Theorem or solving any quantitative expression? If so, you are not alone. And the good news is that VI provides free peer tutorial assistance, helping students review old concepts and build a solid foundation for subsequent math courses. Located on the first floor of Humanities Building, the Math Lab offers a friendly atmosphere where students can receive assistance and feel comfortable asking questions they may not have wanted to ask in class.

Services

  • One-on-one and group math tutoring
  • A variety of practice quizzes
  • Video series and computer tutorials

Staff
The Math Lab staff consists of a part-time director and several part-time peer math tutors. The tutors excel in math and are highly recommended by faculty. Students seeking help will be paired with a tutor who has previously completed, or is currently enrolled in, the same math course as the tutee. The director provides additional assistance and answers any questions the tutors or tutees may have.
